Project Description

Coghlan’s Artisan Bakery is an award-winning supplier of bread and pastries to some of Ireland’s and the UK’s top chefs and supermarkets.

As a member of Bord Bia’s origin green sustainability programme they decided to replace their fossil fuel boiler with a biomass boiler which they would use locally produced wood pellets to provide heat to their baking ovens.

Biomass Silo Systems were contracted to provide a 20.0-ton capacity wood pellet silo and screw conveyor to be housed beside their plant room at the side of their building.

As the wood pellet silo was in a visible area the style was important to Coughlans Bakery. We were able to improve the aesthetic further by powder coating the wood pellet silo to match their building and plant room.

Biomass Silo Systems are proud to have been able to help Coghlans Bakery to make significant savings on their heating costs as well as decrease the company’s carbon footprint
