B&Q Distribution Centre – Worksop, UK

B&Q's Northern Distribution Centre in the UK is an 865,000 square foot building built on a 87 acre site which has achieved a top level BREEAM building rating. Biomass Silo Systems designed and installed the silo and fuel loading system to feed the biomass boiler which provides heat and hot water to the offices, canteen and air handling units. The boiler was specially designed to run off waste wood which is generated by shredding pallets on site that previously would have gone to landfill.

F&H Panton – Lincolnshire, UK

Arramara Teo – Co. Galway, Ireland

Arramara Teo is Ireland’s largest processer of seaweed and has been in operation since 1947. The seaweed is harvested to produce soil fertilizer, animal feed, and alginate used in the food processing industry. Arramara have been able to make huge savings on their old coal-fired system and massively reduce their carbon footprint which was important given their position on the scenic West Coast of Ireland.

A true success story in self-sufficiency, Devonshire Living can now boast of being able to use 100% of the waste from their manufacturing processes to heat their factory units and drying rooms as well as getting repayments on their investment through the renewable heat incentive.

St. Johns – Newfoundland, Canada

The pellet boilers, fuel store and feed system were all installed by Compact Appliances of Sackville, New Brunswick and have allowed for the precise control of temperature within the growing tunnels as well as large savings on fuel costs in comparison with oil. Approximately one year after the installation, the facility released its first crop of plantlets and it has now become critically important to the provinces agricultural industry.

Serres Du Bourgailh – Bordeaux, France

The heater, pellet silo and feed system were all installed by Polypoles, a local installer in the Bordeaux area and all of the fuel for the boilers is sourced from the local forests in Aquitane, helping to promote the Eco Parks sustainable image as well as saving them around €14,000 a year on the heating bill.
