Project Description
Bord Na Mona are one of the largest power generation companies in Ireland with their headquarters located in Newbridge, Co Kildare.
For this project Biomass Silo Systems were required to design, manufacture and install a 32.0 ton wood pellet silo to fit inside a boiler house on the property, this was custom designed and manufactured in order to maximise capacity with the space that was available in the boiler house.
A specially manufactured V-Shaped silo base allowed integration of a third party screw conveyor which would feed the 500kw pellet boiler being installed and pipework for blown deliveries were extended to the outside of the building to minimise disruption during filling of the silo.
Bord Na Mona are leading the Ireland’s transition from using imported fossil fuels to using locally sourced biomass for power generation so having their headquarters heated with a biomass boiler made both strategic and financial sense for the company.
